If you’re looking for a sweet and savory brunch in Lafayette, Stacy’s is THE place to go! With bottomless mimosas and an Instagram worthy backdrop, you’ll have an amazing time!
Located in a shopping strip, it can be easily missed since there’s road construction, but they do have a simple yet cute display sign.
Let me just start with how lively this cute little restaurant was when we arrived in the parking lot! Make sure you arrive early if you want to have a table! We had to wait 45 minutes, but it was well worth the wait!
It had a railed dainty terrace for outdoor dining (or dancing). That’s when you knew the mimosas kicked in! I felt it after the third one!
DING! DING! Brunch Is Served:
Southwest Eggrolls– started with an appetizer that had a combination of colorful bell peppers, beef and veggies all wrapped up in a crispy eggroll blanket and dipped a thick zesty savory sauce. It was delicious! My mouth is watering just writing about it.
Crab Croque – a seasoned spicy crab boudin patty used as the base and topped off with a fried poached egg.
I. NEVER. HAD. A. FRIED. POACHED. EGG.
Have you? It’s the small things okay.
Something about a fried runny egg just gives me life. Was it the softness from the egg or it being lightly battered to give it that extra crunch, or was it just the silky yolk that engulfed the croque?
Well, it was an amazing combination of textures.
Shrimp and Grits – (MY FAVORITE) the shrimps sat in a thick rich cream gravy with cubed bits of tasso that gave the gravy a smokey spicy flavor. Next to the shrimp and tasso gravy were the grits, and O.M.G. LET ME TELL YOU! They were buttery AND had bits of whole corn to give it an extra element.
Mardi Gras Pasta– I forgot pictures but, let me tell you. This had a good ole cajun kick! The “oh my lordie” came out and I couldn’t put down the fork! The rich and creamy sauce left a “southern” taste.
The best way to end brunch is with a little sweetness. Don’t you agree? Which brings me to my last dish of the afternoon!
Banana Foster Pancake– a sweet treat with a traditional vanilla brown butter sauce. Definitely can not pass this treat up. A buttermilk pancake with chunks of banana for extra texture paired with the sweet sauce that melted in your mouth which left an impression.
When you’re in Lafayette, Louisiana for a vacation or just passing by, definitely stop by Stacy’s for brunch and bottomless mimosas! You would not regret it!
